Designed interior layout of 20,000 square feet of high-end executive offices in existing tilt-up warehouse. Responsibilities included design of entry lobby, large seminar room, conference rooms, library, visitor’s apartment, and the addition of new exterior parapet with intricate precast detailing and precast frames around existing window and door openings. Attended client meetings, performed space planning, and incorporated specialty millwork and furniture design. Performed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering coordination; submitted plan check, responded to plan check issues, and reviewed corrections with building officials. Observed fieldwork, coordinated construction, prepared punch lists, and followed up on repairs. The headquarters were completed in September 2011. Worked as subcontractor for Jeff Cooper Architects, Inc.
Directors Guild of America – Los Angeles, CA 2010
Upgraded three theaters with specialty acoustical finishes, projection room equipment, sound systems, and seating. Coordinated structural upgrade to include a three-way speaker system and projection room ports to accommodate new equipment. Improved line of sight and seating layouts. Provided field visits and construction coordination.
Universal Studios – Los Angeles, CA 2002 - 2009
Designed and planned the space layout for edit rooms on the four floors adjacent to the Hitchcock Theatre and the workstations for the 60,000-square-foot building. Designed the sound administration offices, interior arrangement of ADR stages, and client lounge.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – Cleveland, Ohio 2009
Performed acoustic design and planned the layout of the interior spaces. Designed the lighting; coordinated the electrical, mechanical and plumbing engineering; upgraded the seating platforms to increase capacity; and selected the interior finishes.
Steven Spielberg's Home Screening Room – Los Angeles, CA 2008
Assisted in the design of a private home screening room for prominent film director using the latest in audio/video equipment.
Hitchcock Theatre, Universal Studios, New Client Lounge – Los Angeles, CA 2007
Created a green room for actors to prepare prior to performances. Coordinated the construction onsite.
New Progressive Christian Missionary Baptist Church – Oxnard, CA 2009
Designed the acoustical retrofit of existing interior church sanctuary and banquet hall. Selected interior finishes, and performed a reverberation study for client.
Queen Mary – Long Beach, CA 2008
Proposed renovation of the former “Spruce Goose Dome” to new IMAX presentation theater for “Save the Queen, LLC.” Designed a demising wall to separate the existing Carnival Cruise Line from performance arena. Provided several options for seating layouts, including performance theater seating, IMAX seating, and mixed martial arts fight ring. Proposed an outdoor performance shell, which was put on hold until the economy improves.
Buckley School – Calabasas, CA 2007
Performed an acoustical study and reverberation calculations for performance theater, projection room, green room, classrooms, dance rooms and music rooms. Maintained LEED compliance. Provided standard acoustic details for all levels of sound attenuation.
Sunset Gower Studios – Hollywood, CA 2006
Participated in a team that designed and built a six-story building and tenant improvements for Technicolor, which included mixing rooms and specialty video stage requirements. Sunset Gower Studios received a “Charlie” award in Art and Architecture in April 2009. Attended all meetings related to L.A. Planning and Building Department issues, including variances, the Change in Use Permit, the Environmental Impact Report, and CEQA permit. Coordinated architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, landscaping, and traffic engineering disciplines. Attended weekly construction coordination meetings for the duration of the project. Performed field inspections and prepared construction-related punch lists. “Blue Wave Audio” – Provided consulting and design services to Jeff Cooper Architects, Inc. and Synergetics, Inc. for the interior conversion of a 12,000-square-foot basement into a facility dedicated to digital mastering, soundtrack restoration, Telecine™ conversion, digital transfer, and trailer mixing. The design features a large, glass-enclosed, central machine core that is surrounded by blue neon “wave” light, large mix studios, four audio mastering studios, and three editorial suites. Blue Wave was nominated for a Tech Award in 2002.

Serving as the Project Director for renovation work at multiple McDonald’s restaurant locations. Working with the corporate client, individual owner/operators of McDonald’s restaurants, and general contractors. Coordinating projects from plan check and city submittals to construction documents, third-party submittals, shop drawings (including McDonald’s special requirements), and requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Following through with construction meetings, field visits, requests for information, and construction coordination.
